Featured Project: Commercial Lifestyle Photography for Polygon Homes

I recently had the pleasure of working with Polygon Homes—a Vancouver conglomerate that ranks among the top home-builders in Western Canada. They’re currently celebrating the last development phase of Dayanee Springs: a Whistler-inspired community that has been 6 years in the making.

As I did my pre-shoot scout of Dayanee, I was happy to find that the site was perfect for the relaxed, natural lifestyle images we were aiming for.

Here are some of my favourites (including some brief photographer’s notes).

1. I love Amanda’s expression and the lens flare at the top-left of the frame.
Photographer’s Notes: 5D Mark II, 70mm, f/2.8. Natural light. Removed lens filter for cleaner lens flare.

2. The sun was bright on Jesse and Amanda’s patio. By positioning it behind them we avoided harsh shadows and gained some extra definition.
Photographer’s Notes: 5D Mark II, 70mm, f/3.5. Softlighter high camera right (warm gel, low power), sun providing rim.

3. Nature infuses the landscape of Dayanee Springs; I like the way the trees give depth to this image.
Photographer’s Notes: 5D Mark II, 70mm, f/2.8. Natural Light.

A big thanks to Amanda and Jesse for being a blast to work with!
